There’s something sacred about those early days – quiet and loud all at once. A newborn in your arms. A partner close. The dog curled up at your feet. The comfort of your home holding it all together.
This session was calm and unhurried. We stayed indoors, moving gently through the morning light, pausing between feeds and cuddles, letting the moments unfold as they always do, in the stillness, in the small glances, in the soft weight of a baby resting on your chest.
They didn’t tidy. They didn’t dress up. They just showed up and that’s what made it so beautiful.
These are the kinds of images that won’t feel like a photoshoot when you look back. They’ll feel like a memory you get to keep.

Why Choose In-Home Newborn Photography?
Home is where your story is unfolding right now. It’s where the baby’s first cuddles happened, where late-night feeds and quiet naps take place, and where siblings wander in and out to sneak a peek at their new brother or sister. By photographing in your own space, the images reflect not only your baby, but also the environment where these early memories are made.
There’s no rush, no pressure to have everything perfect. Newborn sessions last up to two hours to allow time for feeds, nappy changes, and pauses whenever you or your baby need them. The result is a gallery filled with real-life moments you’ll never want to forget.
What a Session Looks Like
Your newborn session is relaxed and unposed. I’ll gently guide you into good light but won’t ask for stiff posing. Instead, I focus on the interactions between you and your baby. the way you rock them to sleep, the softness of skin-to-skin, the way they curl into your arms.
Some of my favourite images are of the details you might not think to notice in the moment: tiny toes against your hand, eyelashes resting on soft cheeks, the way their little mouth pouts in sleep. These seemingly small details change so quickly, and photography helps preserve them.
The Best Time to Book Newborn Photos
I recommend booking your session during pregnancy to secure a spot. We’ll pencil in a date around a week after your due date, then confirm once your baby arrives. The ideal window for newborn photography is within the first 14 days, when babies are still sleepy and curly.
But newborn photography doesn’t have to be limited to those first two weeks. Sessions at one month, three months, or even later still capture beautiful memories, from the first smiles to the sweet “chub” that appears as your baby grows. Every stage in the first year is worth remembering.
